Darrell Keith Turner, beloved
husband of Glenda Sanders Turner, went to be with the Lord on
Saturday, July 23, 2016.
Darrell was born on February
5, 1953, as the only child of Rose and Bernell Turner, of
He made a profession of faith at a very
young age, and was a member of Bradley’s Pleasure Baptist
Darrell and Glenda were married on
September 23, 1994, in Townsend, Tennessee.
Darrell was a loyal friend and employee
of Gooch Electric, where he worked as a master electrician.
He was a member of the IBEW Local 369
Electrical Workers Union, Sievers Masonic Lodge #491, of Nancy
and the Shriners Oleika Temple of Lexington.
Darrel loved to go camping, boating and
spending time with his beloved Corgi, “Sunny”.
He will be sadly missed by his
family and friends.
Darrell leaves behind his wife,
Glenda; parents Rose and Bernell Tuner; a step-daughter, Lori
Wade, of Fort Wright; beloved granddaughter, Erin Reese Jones;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma and Sam Thomas, of
Harrodsburg, Carla Jo and Joe Norris, of Lexington and Byron and
Theresa Walters, of Fisherville; two nieces, DeLaina Elmore (and
Nate Danvers) and Samantha (and Kyle) Hoppes; two special little
ones, a niece, Taylor Grace Walters and nephew, Daniel Walters;
along with a host of friends and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, July
25, 2016, after 6:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Masonic Rites by the Sievers
Lodge #491 of Nancy will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the
funeral home chapel.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Norman Harper officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Baptist
Church Cemetery, in Casey County.
Pallbearers will be Mike Minton, John
Gooch, Ron Robertson, Paul Cundiff, Richard Lawson and Pat
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Thomas,
Byron Walters, Joe Norris, Nate Danvers, Kyle Hoppes, Mark
Thomas, Shawn Robertson and Joe Means.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is
