Karen Dee Alton Cogdill,
40, 571 Dixie Bend Road, Burnside, Kentucky, passed away Sunday,
January 22nd, 2006 as the result of an automobile
accident.
She was born February 25th,
1965 in Whitley City, Kentucky, daughter of Austin Alton and Diane
Nicholas Alton, Burnside, Kentucky, both of Burnside, Kentucky.
She was a stock clerk for Somerset Wal-Mart and a member of Grave
Hill Baptist Church, Tateville, Kentucky. She was a loving Mom,
sister and devoted wife. She loved everyone and always had a smile
on her face.
She is survived by her
husband; Carl Wayne Cogdill, Burnside, Kentucky, whom she married
on August 26th, 1983 in Pulaski County: three
daughters; Rebecca (and Reuben) Steiner, Somerset, Kentucky,
Stephanie Cogdill (and fiancée, Justin Emerson), Somerset,
Kentucky and Katie Cogdill, Burnside, Kentucky: her parents: one
brother; Dennis Lee (and Jeanette) Alton, Burnside, Kentucky: two
sisters; Deborah (and Jim) Stout, Burnside, Kentucky and Missi
(and Bro. Darry) Hatfield, Somerset Kentucky: one grandchild;
Jasmine Emerson: Father & Mother-in-law; Bill and Ethel
Cogdill, Ferguson, Kentucky: Maternal Grandmother; Viola Nicholas,
Burnside, Kentucky: several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by one brother; Ricky Duane Alton.
Funeral services were held
at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 27th, 2006 at the Chapel of
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Darry Hatfield and
Brother Bobby Clark officiating. Burial will be in Grave Hill
Cemetery, Tateville, Kentucky. Visitation was held after 6:00 p.m.,
Thursday, January 26th, 2006 at Lake Cumberland Funeral
Home.
