Kody A. Thacker, age 19 of the Slate Branch community of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky. 

He was born on August 19, 1993 in Lexington, Kentucky to David Thacker and Loretta Carey Thacker.  He was a full-time student at Somerset Community College.  Mr. Thacker was a 2012 graduate of Southwestern High School.  He was a member of DECA and a special assistant to the late Mrs. Louise Simpson.  Mr. Thacker was a Christian. 

He is survived by his mother, Loretta Carey Thacker; his father, David Thacker; a brother, Keith Lee Thacker; grandmother, Eileen M. Thacker; aunts, Sharlene (and Chester) Brown, Carolyn (and Earl) Claunch, Teresa (and Randy) Singleton, Peggy (and Carson) Acey, Becky (and Victor) Owens, Carlotta (and Bruce) Stringer; uncles, Kenneth (and Diana) Carey, Randy (and Tammy) Thacker, Travis (and Malissa) Thacker; and numerous cousins; special loves ones, James and Frances Ferrell and family; Jerry Burnett and family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kyle J. Thacker; grandparents, Roy E. and Wilma Lee Carey and Joseph “Skeets” Thacker; great grandparents, Oscar and Carrie Wilcher and Lela and John Thacker.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5-9:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Burnett officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Ferrell, Blake Adams, Randy Thacker, Roger Daniel, Christopher Carey and Cody David.
