Arlis B. Abbott, age 74 of the Eubank community, departed this life on March, 3 2011 at his residence.

He was born on October 15, 1936 in Pulaski County, KY to Edith Gooch Abbott and the late Oran Abbott. He was a truck driver for Clay Collins Trucking and a member of the Floyd Switch Baptist Church.

Mr. Abbott is survived by his mother, Edith Gooch Abbott of Somerset, KY; his wife, Linda Fields Abbott, whom he married on November 17, 1959 in Eubank, KY; a son, Douglas (and Sara) Abbott of Hamilton, OH; three daughters, Becky (and Carson) Atwood of Somerset, KY, Cheryl (and Tim) Keith of Eubank, KY, and Michelle (and Larry) Glover of Somerset, KY; seven grandchildren, Ryan (and Kellie) Atwood, Jamie (and Jennifer) Abbott, Robby (and Misty) Atwood, Shane (and Sabrina) Abbott, Kortney (and Reid) Sullivan, T.J. (and Jodi) Keith, and Hunter Glover; thirteen great grandchildren, Caleb Atwood, Canaan Atwood, Luke Atwood, Olivia Atwood, Ada Lee Atwood, Layton Abbott, Bailey Abbott, Blake Abbott, Makayla Estes, Chase Keith, Cameron Keith, Nova Leigh Helmer, and Levi James Sullivan; a brother, John Marvin Abbott of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Fern (and Otis) Noe of Somerset, KY, Dean (and Irvin) York of Eubank, KY, and Marilyn (and Arlis) Taylor of Somerset, KY; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oran Abbott and a granddaughter, Madeline Abbott.

Visitation for Mr. Abbott will be Sunday, March 6^th from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, March 7^th at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Dusty York and Bro. Carson Atwood officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodstock, KY. Mr. Abbott’s grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
