Beulah (Haggard) Hall April 10, 1920 - August 25, 2001 Beulah (Haggard) Hall, 81, Hwy 635 passed away Saturday August 25, 2001 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born April 10, 1920 a daughter of the late Joe Mitchell Haggard and Lou Vada (Moore) Haggard. She was a homemaker, a retired school cook at Hogue Elementary School and a member of the Eubank Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Ralph (and Margaret) Hall Lockland, Ohio and Gerald (and Doris) Hall Fairfield, Ohio and Boyd (and Sue Ann) Hall Science Hill; one daughter, Donna (and Steve) Aker, Science Hill; one brother Carl Haggard New Castle, Ind.; five sisters, Ila Wesley, Somerset, Hester Gover, Aurora, Ind., Geneva Eastham, Imogene Roberts and Joyce Neikirk all of Somerset; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Otis Hall, whom she married on August 12, 1932; two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday August 28, 2001 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Brother Vola Brown and Brother Ferlin Price officiating. Burial will be in the Science Hill Cemetery. Lydia Mae (Sipple) Bates January 5, 1920 - August 25, 2001 Lydia Mae (Sipple) Bates, 81, Grundy Road passed away Saturday August 25, 2001 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg, Ky. She was born January 2, 1920 a daughter of the late John D. Sipple and Delphia (Wilson) Sipple. She was a seamstress and a member of the Barnesburg Baptist Church. Survivors include on brother, Ray (and Marie) Abbott, Science Hill; one sister, Maxine (and Lawrence) Kemper, Homosassa, Fla., and three nieces, Opal (and Howard) Phillips, Paulette Morris and Jeanette (and Don) Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Shorty" Bates Jr., who passed away on February 25, 2001 and one sister, Ruby Haggard. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 28, 2001 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Brother Harold Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Rocklick Cemetery. Mrs. Eunice Gilbert September 2, 1917 - August 14, 2001 Mrs. Eunice Gilbert, 83, 2730 North Hwy 1247 passed away Tuesday August 14, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born September 22, 1917 daughter of the late Jesse and Frances (McGee) Bowling. She was a homemaker, loving mother and member of Camp Ground Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Earl Gilbert (whom she married on October 23, 1937); two sons, Donald Ray (and Jean) Gilbert of Louisville, Ky., and David Gilbert of Somerset; one daughter, Doris (Curt) Wallace of Somerset; three sisters, Eula Mae Feltner of London, Louise Phelps of Somerset and Alice Collier of London; six grandchildren, Dr. Tamela Adkins, Donna Gilbert, Krista Boaz, Kara Wallace, Scott Gilbert and Amanda Gilbert; five great grandchildren. Larry Winfred Compton January 17,1949- August 5,2001 Larry Winfred Compton, 52, of Faubush passed away Sunday, August 5, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Somerset, the son of Winfred and Pauline Hunley Compton. After graduation from Nancy High School in 1966, Somerset Community College, Morehead State University and Eastern Kentucky University, he became a biology teacher and administrator for the Pulaski County School System, retiring in 1998. He was a charter member and active firefighter for the Faubush Tri-County Fire Department.Being an avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Pulaski County Outdoorsman Club, Skeet Shooting League, and Timberridge Hunting Club. He was a lifelong member of Burnetta Baptist Church.He is survived by his parents, his wife, Jeanne Jackson Compton, one son; Jeremy Wade Compton, a student at Southwestern High School, one maternal grandmother, Rosetta Roy Hunley. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, august 8, at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Vola Brown officiating. Burial at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. She was born in Richmond, KY, September 21, 1935, daughter of the late Arbor D. Tipton and Linnie (Gentry) Tipton. She had worked for Crestview Nursing Home and Britthaven of Somerset, a founder of Granny's Learn and Grow Preschool Daycare Center, a graduate of Madison Central High School, Richmond, KY and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Jack Upchurch, whom she married May 21, 1964 in Oneida, TN; three sons, Billy (and Libby) Upchurch of Richmond, Jimmy (and Sherry) Upchurch, Bobby (and Tammy) all of Somerset; a brother, Charlie (and Libby) Tipton of Richmond; a sister, Ruby (and Nick) Cosby; seven grandchildren, Chris, Jaclyn, Krista, Shonda, Amber, Austin and Nicole Upchurch.
