Beatrice Perdue, age 98 of
Somerset, departed this life on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Lake
Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Perdue was born on
April 9, 1913 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Henry G. and Mary
Campbell Sims. She worked at the Meece Middle School in Somerset
in the school lunch room. She was also the fountain manager at
Pulaski Drug for many years and was well known for her chili dogs.
She loved to quilt. Mrs. Perdue was a member at the First
Christian Church of Somerset.
She married Chester P.
Perdue on April 3, 1930 in Somerset, KY and he preceded her in
death in September 1970.
Mrs. Perdue is survived by
three daughters, Sarah Dalton of Monticello, KY, Lois Taylor (and
special friend, Bob Hayden) of Monticello, KY, and Mary Lou (and
Joe) Daulton of Bronston, KY; her grandchildren, Vicki (and Phil)
Hawhee of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Edward Perdue of Cocoa, FL, John
“Derf” Garner of Nancy, KY, Eugene C. Garner of Nancy, KY,
Roberta Warren of Henderson, TX, Tammy Herrea of Abilene, TX,
Kenny Chrisman of Somerset, KY, Kurt Robbins of Ft. Lauderdale,
FL, and John Robbins of Orlando, FL; ten great grandchildren; four
great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kay Perdue of
Orlando, FL; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Fickenscher of Sun City,
AZ.
Along with her parents and
husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Perdue
Chrisman; a son, Henry Fred Perdue; four brothers, John Sims,
Charlie Sims, Carley Sims, and Paul Sims; two great grandchildren,
Jason Garner and Ryan Whitaker; a sister, Creasie Hutchison; and
three sons-in-law, John Will Garner, Frank Taylor, and Lisle
Dalton.
Visitation for Mrs. Perdue
will be Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be
Thursday, February 2nd at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Schaeffer officiating.
Interment will be in the Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg,
KY.
