Bennie Lee Hensley Jr., age
68 of Somerset departed this life on Monday, February 14, 2011 at
the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on November 28,
1942 in Stanford, KY to Nancy Hoskins Hensley McAninch and the
late Bennie Lee Hensley Sr. Mr. Hensley was a United States Navy
veteran, former owner of Driftwood Electrical and a member of the
Rush Branch Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, tournament
fishing, bowling, playing pool, and restoring old cars. Mr.
Hensley enjoyed spending time with his family, children,
grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Hensley is survived by
his wife, Frances Hall Hensley, whom he married on February 18,
1988 in Somerset, KY; his mother, Nancy and Carnell McAninch of
the Poplarville community; a son, Bennie Lee Hensley III of
Somerset, KY; three daughters, Veronica Crall-Martin (and Tom) of
Danville, KY, Benita Hensley Lanham of Danville, KY, and Stacy
Jones (and Jeremy Emerson) of Science Hill, KY; grandchildren,
Haylee, Destinee, Trae, Benny IV, Daniel, Grace, Shelby, Chase,
Peyton, and Brooklyn; a brother, George Hensley (and Sandy) of
Burgin, KY; a sister, Alice Clark (and Phil) of Danville, KY; four
stepsisters; a very special niece, Jennifer Owens (and Verlan) of
Somerset, KY; and a close friend, Lige Stearns of Poplarville, KY.
Along with his father,
Bennie Lee Hensley Sr., he was preceded in death by his three
brothers, Wayne Hensley, Phil Hensley, and Mark Hensley; and a
sister, Sue Hensley.
Visitation for Mr. Hensley
will be Wednesday, February 16th at 6:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Graveside Services will
held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 17th at Mill
Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY
