Billy G. Smith, age 82 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, July 8, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on January 1, 1929 in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Ora Smith and Lula Johnson Smith.  He attended Southern Heights Christian Church in Somerset, KY.  He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.  Mr. Smith was a retired supervisor with Norfolk Southern Railroad with 40 years of service. 

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Grace Corman Smith whom he married on December 27, 1950 in Wilmore, Kentucky; and a son, Anthony G. (and Martha) Smith of Spencer County, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation for Billy G. Smith will be Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky. 

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Jones officiating.  Interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.  Full military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
