Bob
Jasper, age 66 of Ferguson, Kentucky, departed this life on
Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis,
Indiana.
He
was born on May 19, 1945 in Somerset, Kentucky to Nora Ellen
Hardgrove Jasper and the late James Preston Jasper. He was
formerly employed as a supervisor for Modernfold and currently
employed at the American Legion. He was of the Baptist
faith. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion
Post #38, a member of the American Veterans Post #125 in Somerset,
a member of Eagles in New Castle, Indiana and a member of Pulaski
Veterans. He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed
photography, Nascar and watching the U. K. Wildcats. He also
enjoyed a good bargain and he loved to eat.
Mr.
Jasper is survived by his mother, Nora Ellen Hardgrove Jasper, two
sons, Mark Jasper of New Castle, Indiana and Creston Johnson, an
honorary son; two daughters, Lori Jasper of Punta Gorda,
Florida and Amanda Jasper of Kansas City, Kansas; he was the very
proud grandfather of Brittney Elmore, Isaah Jasper, Sebastian (Shellcracker)
McBride and Zoe (Zoe Doey) McNolty; three brothers, Joe and Greg
Jasper of Somerset, KY and Tom Jasper of New Castle, Indiana;
seven sisters, Marian McGowan, Judy Compton, Kay Spaw, Cindy
Slaughter, Becky Gallaher, Liz Warren all of Somerset, KY and Lisa
McGrayel, Noblesville, Indiana; and a special friend, Kaye Markin.
Along
with his father, James Preston Jasper, he was preceded in death by
a son, Brad Jasper; a grandson, Jared Elmore; and two brothers,
David and Johnny Jasper.
Visitation
for Bob Jasper will be Wednesday, June 29, 2011 after 6:00 pm at
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset,
Kentucky.
Funeral
service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the
Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother J. S. New
officiating.
The
family request expressions of sympathy be made to the American

Somerset, KY 42501.
