Callie Mae Hopkins

March 6, 1926 - July 3, 2008

Callie Mae Hopkins, 82, Sneed Rd., Science Hill, KY, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 at her residence.

She was born in Oneida, KY on March 6, 1926, daughter of the late Alford T. and Mary (Wilson) Mathis. She was a factory worker for Sperry Rubber Co., Indiana, and attended Ansel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, David Hopkins of Jackson Center, OH; John Hopkins and Danny Ray Hopkins, both of Harrison, OH; David Earl Hopkins of New Port Ritchie, FL; Thelma Sowders of Science Hill and Wanda Collins of Hamilton, OH; three brothers, Arnold Mathis of Hamilton, OH; John D. Mathis of Bradenton, Florida; Luther Mathis of Manchester, KY; 19 grandchildren and several great - grandchildren and great - great - grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hopkins; son, Leon
Hopkins; daughter Joyce Ann Johnson; three brothers, Clay, Henry and Jeff Mathis; four sisters, Julie Johnson, Dora Mathis, Mattie Anderson and Nancy Lunsford.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Sardis
Cemetery, Ansel, KY.

Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
