Carl “Hoot” Phillips, age 87 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, July 29, 2011. 

He was born on August 15, 1923 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Will W. and Ellie Lane Phillips.  He was retired from Mac’s Drywall Company and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his special friends, Randall McDonald and Hazel Lois McGowan. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lou, Lee and Fred Phillips and five sisters, Minie Persinger, Lemmie Smith, Evie Burchett, Elsie Durs and Greenie Lane.

Visitation for Carl “Hoot” Phillips will be Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:00 am followed by his funeral service at 12 Noon at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother James Floyd officiating.  Burial will be in the Ringgold Cemetery.
