Clyde Goins Jr.

April 3, 1930 - April 23, 2008

Clyde Goins Jr., age 78, formerly of Bronston, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Claiborne Co. Hospital in New Tazewell, TN.

He was born in LaFollette, TN on April 3, 1930 to the late Clyde and Mary Ogle Goins Sr. He married Donna Dykes in August of 1978. He was an Army Master Sergeant during the Korean War and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #269.  He retired from General Motors in Dayton, OH in 1992. Mr. and Mrs. Goins moved to Bronston, KY, where he worked at the Southern Chevron until their closing.

Mr. Goins is survived by a son, Jack L. Goins of Covington, KY; three stepsons, Darryl Dykes and James Dykes, both of Florence, KY, and Dan (and Barbara) Dykes, of Alexander, KY; one brother, Harold (& Linda) Goins of Plano, TX; a stepbrother, Patrick Mansel of Saudi Arabia; two sisters, Hazel Bradley of Dayton, OH and Evelyn Jewel Goins of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Delores Goins and a sister, Dorothy Louise Bauerle.

Funeral services for Clyde Goins Jr. will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Bro. James Dishman officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
