Curtis
L. Huff, age 77 of Burnside, Kentucky departed this life on
Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He
was born on July 9, 1933 in Burnside, Kentucky to the late Mar
Huff and Lucy Brummet Huff. Mr. Huff was retired from
Oakwood and also retired from Oscar Hornsby Chevron, where he was
a truck driver. He was a former Democratic Precinct Chairman
of Burnside, served two terms as a Magistrate for the 5th
District, was a Councilman for the City of Burnside, was the Fire
Chief for the City of Burnside and the City Building Inspector.
He was president and manager of Little League. He was
a member of First Baptist Church in Burnside and a member of the
Burnside Masonic Lodge #634, 32nd degree and a Kentucky
Colonel.
Mr.
Huff is survived by his wife, Shirley Flynn Huff of Burnside, KY,
whom he married on July 28, 1953 in Trenton, Georgia; one son,
Roger (and Becky) Huff of Burnside, KY; two daughters, Judy Smith
of Burnside, KY and Terry (and Bobby) Bruce of Somerset, KY; six
grandchildren, Kyle Curtis Sadler (and Stacey Schoolcraft), Taryn
Sadler (and David Seward), Shannon Smith, James Shade Smith,
Amanda (and Josh) Dennis, and Angela (and Chris) Randall; six
great grandchildren Adalynn June Sadler, Cheyenne Smith, Paris
Smith, Gavin Smith, Avery Jordan Dennis and Kriscelyn Michelle
Randall.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie
Roe Huff; one sister, Elsie Arnold; and one great grandchild,
Kamden Jo Randall.
Visitation
for Mr. Huff will be Thursday, April 21st at 6:00 pm at
the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral
service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 22nd
at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 W. Hwy. 80, Somerset, KY
42503 with Brother Richard Christian and Brother Dudley Bryant
officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery.
The
family request expressions of sympathy be made to the Building
Fund of the First Baptist Church in Burnside, Kentucky, P. O. Box
635, Burnside, KY 42519.
