Daisy L. Arthur, 68, of Shopville , Kentucky , passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at her residence.

She was born in Dykes, Kentucky on November 17, 1942, daughter of the late Commodore and Juanita Adams Dykes.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard Arthur of Shopville, two sons, Terry & (Rene) Arthur of Somerset and Teddy & (Tammy Red) Arthur of Cincinnati, OH, three daughters, Tammy Stone & (Bill) of Knightstown, IN, Tina Arthur & (Shareese) of Lexington, KY and Teresa & (Tim) Kappner of Louisville, KY, six brothers, Sammie & (Charlotte) Dykes of Somerset, Ray & (Brenda) Dykes of London, James "Bur" & (Vicky) Dykes of Somerset, Roger & (Linda) Dykes of Mt. Vernon, Jay & (Winona) Dykes of Mt. Vernon and Bennie Dykes of Somerset, six sisters, Trudell & (Bobby) Burdine of Somerset, Patricia & (Roger) Bullock of Mt. Vernon, Sue & (James) Lawson of Somerset, Kay & (Jerry) Bullock of Livingston, KY, Dean & (Tom) Chaney of Mt. Vernon and Susie White of London, eight grandchildren, Shannon, Holly, Jamie, Emily, Brittany, Sabrina, Liz and Samantha, eight great-grandchildren, Noah, Shelby, Kaleb, Trinitee, Jayce, Ivan, Cayd and Tice, several nieces and nephews.  She was a beloved mother and "Mammy" to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Proffit and Bro. Scott Nix officiating.

Burial will be in Whitaker Cemetery .  

Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
