Dewey Jewell Tomlison February 25, 1945 - April 18, 2008
Dewey
Jewell Tomlison, of the White Lily Community, departed this life on
April 18, 2008 at the U.K. – Markey Cancer Center having attained the
age of 63. He was born February 25, 1945 to Loney Ellen Hodge Tomlison, Somerset, KY and the late Clarence Tomlison.
He was a loyal Tecumseh Products employee for 30 years and a
well-known mechanic in the community. He was a faithful member of the
Colo Baptist Church.
Mr. Tomlison is survived by his mother and he was married to
Janice Meece Tomlison on July 8, 1972, in Somerset, KY who survives him.
To this union they had 5 children, all of whom survive. They include 3
sons: Alvin Jewell and (Sherry) Tomlison of Eubank; Dewey Scott and (Dreama)
Tomlison of Science Hill; and Larry Ray and (Michelle) Glover of
Somerset and 2 daughters: Kelly Glover and (Anthony) Nicholas and
Lucinda (Cindy) Tomlison Stringer, both of Somerset. Other survivors
include 3 brothers: Finley and (Debbie) Tomlison of Burnside; Ronnie and
(Jody) Tomlison and David and (Anna) Tomlison, both of Somerset and 2
sisters: Georgie May and (Jimmy) Baker and Faye and (Tony) Wiles, both
of Somerset. There are 12 grandchildren who also survive. They are
Matthew Tomlison, Megan Pitman, Aaron Eldridge, Kortney Todd, Sarah
Eldridge, Amber Hargis, Joshua Blevins, Taylor Mounce, Hunter Glover,
Jordan Tomlison, Lexi Nicholas, and Mylee Stringer. He is also survived
by his 1st wife and family friend, Juanita Meece Hampton. He
leaves behind a host of family and friends as well.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers,
Oather Lee and Billy Ferrell Tomlison.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Monday, April 21, 2008 at
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, with Brothers David Harmon and Donnie
Baker officiating. The
family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 2:00pm until
6:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be in the White Lily Church Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, make donations to the White Lily Church Cemetery Fund.
