Donald Lee “Donny” Simpson, age 64 of Somerset , KY departed this life on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born on April 5, 1947 in Liberty, KY to Ova Bryant Simpson.  Mr. Simpson was an iron worker and a carnival worker. 

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Barbara Elizabeth Neeley Simpson, whom he married in March 2003; a son, Rodney Simpson of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Melinda Henderson of Somerset, KY and Tammy Hall of Hahira, Georgia; five grandchildren, Alicia Creek, Elizabeth Henderson, Kevin Henderson, Kayla Hall and Brianna Hall; one great grandchild, Maci Creek; two brothers, Ernie Simpson and Jackie Simpson. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ova Bryant Simpson; a brother, Gene Simpson; and two sisters, Barbara Brumley and Jill Darnell. 

Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2011 after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, KY 42503. 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Harold Rose officiating.
