Edna J. Burton

    November 6, 1925 - June 13, 2011

Edna J. Burton, age 85 of Nancy, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. 

She was born on November 6, 1925 in Naomi, Kentucky to the late Jerome and Bessie Halcomb Tarter.  Mrs. Burton was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Okalona Baptist Church in Nancy, Kentucky. 

Mrs. Burton is survived by four sons, John Wayne (and June) Burton, Samuel Garry (and Sue) Burton, William Boyd Burton and David E. Burton, all of Nancy, KY; three daughters, Joan Ellen (and Terry) Tucker of Somerset, KY, Karen Lynn Sadler of Nancy, KY and Rebecca Jane (and Tim) Ballard of Georgetown, KY; thirteen grandchildren, Sherry Cosson, David Wayne Burton, Kevin Burton, Kristi Hollen, Stacy Burton, Terry Tucker II, Kim Ellis, Amber Brown, Brian Tucker, Christopher Sadler, Michelle Sadler, Crystal Lyons and Jacob Ballard; seventeen great grandchildren, Sondra Ellis, Heather Ellis, Ethan Cosson,  Sam Hollen, Sarah Hollen, Ashley Burton, Tyler Burton,  Nicholas Burton, Jaden Burton,  Haylie Tucker, Karma Brown, Alyssa Brown, Allison Sadler, Cameron Dick, Brendon Dick, Cortney Lyons and Jon Lyons; three sisters, Mina (and Milford) Marcum of Nancy, KY, Melva June Stapleton of Somerset, KY and Katherine (and Herb) Bradley of Cincinnati, OH. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Eugene Burton; four brothers, Dennis, Everett, Wiley J. and Roscoe Tarter; three sisters, Pauline Chadwell, Irene Young and Hazel Bogle Weaver; and two grandchildren, Misty Burton and Douglas Jerome Tucker. 

Visitation for Edna Burton will be Wednesday, June 15th after 6:00 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky and then Thursday, June 16th at 1:00 pm at the church until time for services.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 16th at 2:00 pm at the Okalona Baptist Church in Nancy, Kentucky with Brother John Zupancic officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be the gransdons.
