Emma Jean Burdine Holt, age
82, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Pulaski County, KY, departed
this life on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Community Hospital
North in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born to the late
Oscar and Nancy E. (Barnes) Burdine on December 3, 1929 in the
Squib community of Pulaski County, KY. Mrs. Holt worked for Carson
Manufacturing Company in Indianapolis, IN as a transformer
assembly operator. She loved flower gardening, to shop, and her
family. Mrs. Holt was a person who had a gentle spirit and saw the
good in everyone and everything. She was also very people oriented
and very family oriented too. Mrs. Holt was a member of the
Chimney Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include a
daughter, Norma Jean (and Lee) Jackson of Indianapolis, IN; a
grandson, Michael Lee (and Laura) Jackson; a great grandson,
Bauer; and a sister, Minnie Taylor of Squib, KY.
Along with her with her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Holt, who
passed away on December 19, 2009; three brothers, Alvin, Albert,
and Wilburn Burdine; and six sisters, Ethel Adams, Dora Woodall,
Francis Woodall, Cynthia Burdine, Bessie Small, and Lucy Burdine.
Visitation for Mrs. Holt
will be Sunday, January 22nd at 11:00 am at the Chapel
of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with her funeral service to follow
at 2:00 pm. Bro. Earl Owens will officiate. Burial will be in the
Chimney Rock Cemetery.
