Geneva Thurst Flynn, age 82
of the Kidder community, departed this life on Friday, September
16, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on August 18,
1929 in Wayne County, KY to the late Frank and Zella Opal Jones
Casada. Mrs. Flynn was a homemaker and member of the Liberty
Baptist Church in the Kidder community. She loved to cook and
always had a compliment for everyone. Mrs. Flynn was a loving
caretaker, mother, and grandmother.
She married the late James
William Flynn on August 17, 1946 in Wayne County, KY.
Mrs. Flynn is survived by
her three sons, Donnie (and Shirley Sue) Flynn of Burnside, KY,
Curtis Allen “Curt” (and Lori Lee) Flynn of Ratcliff, KY, and
Calvin David (and Paige) Flynn of Bronston, KY; a daughter, Brenda
Jean Roberts of Bronston, KY; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great
grandchildren; a brother, David (and Barb) Casada of Somerset; and
two sisters, Imogene Flynn and Karen Branscum, both of Somerset.
Along with her parents and
husband, she was preceded in death by her three sons, Gary William
Flynn, Douglas Wayne Flynn, and James Anthony Flynn; a
granddaughter, Tiffany Faith Flynn; a brother, Carl Casada; a
sister, Janice Sue Casada; and a very special son-in-law, Johnny
Roberts.
Visitation for Mrs. Flynn
will be Sunday, September 18th at 5:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home and then after 10:00 am on Monday,
September 19th at the Liberty Baptist Church in the
Kidder community in Wayne County.
Funeral service will be
held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 19th at the
Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. UIanda Price officiating. Burial
will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Flynn’s
grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers.
The family requests
expressions of sympathy be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Home
Missions Fund.
