George L. Petrey, 81, of the Woodstock community, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Woodstock , KY on September 14, 1929, son of the late Elbert and Mannie Gill Petrey. He was a farmer.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda York of Sumpter, SC, three sons, Dewayne Petrey, Hank & (Shelly) Petrey, and Richard & (Rachel) Petrey all of Woodstock, KY, one sister, Bertha Mae Petrey of Dayton, OH, nine grandchildren, Bryan, Robert, Delese, Amy, Angie, Kayla, Anna, Kansas, Madisen, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by, his wife, Ruth Christine Deaton Petrey, one son, Lonnie Joe Petrey, one brother, William "Bill" Petrey, and three sisters, Ruth Jones, Flossie Randall, and Maggie Petrey.

Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday May 2, 2011 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery .

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday May 3, 2011 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Roberts officiating.
