Gladys Burdine Carlton Adams
Mrs.
Gladys Burdine Carlton Adams, age 82 of Somerset, departed this life on
Sunday, June 29, 2008 at her home. She was
born on April 11, 1926 in the Squib community to the late Ramon and
Florence Adams Burdine. Gladys was a homemaker, farmer, and factory
worker in Indiana during WWII, and drove a coal truck. She was a member
of the Acorn Baptist Church and attended the Chimney Rock Baptist
Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, sewing, and spending time
with her grandchildren. Gladys is survived by a son, Gary Allen (and Margie) Carlton of Price Valley community; four grandchildren, Tony, Chris, Robyn, and Gary Carlton Jr.; a sister, Bethel June Fetty; and a nephew, Roger (and Paula) Harper. Preceding
her in death were her parents; 1st husband, Raymond Carlton,
whom she married in 1942 and passed away on June15, 1967; 2nd
husband, Herman Adams, whom she married in 1979 and passed away on
February 5, 1985; two infant daughters, Donna Kay and Barbara June
Carlton; a sister, Hazel Harper; and two brothers-in-law, Edwin Harper
and Robert Fetty. Visitation
for Mrs. Adams will be Tuesday, July 1st after 6:00 pm at
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Dykes and Bro. Kenny Daulton officiating. Burial will follow in the Acorn Cemetery.
