Herbert
“Hoover” Neeley, age 81 of Bronston, KY departed this life on
Monday, April 25, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He
was born on April 29, 1929 in Pulaski County, KY to the late
Crawford and Rebecca Troxtell Neeley. Mr. Neeley was a
woodworker for Keith Construction Company and a farmer. He
was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in the Kidder community of
Wayne County. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and watching old
John Wayne movies. Mr. Neeley loved spending time with family.
Mr.
Neeley is survived by one daughter, Brenda Hardwick of Bronston,
KY; four grandchildren, Becky Wiggs, Peggy (and Lee) Branscum,
Danny (and Crystal) Hardwick, and Bernita (and Buddy) Wiggs;
eleven great grandchildren, Dusty, Vicky, Nikki, Andy, Peyton,
Hunter, Zackary, Nicholas, Preston, Angel, Johnothan; and six
great- great grandchildren, Jackson, Kendal, Kylie, Jayden,
Destiny and Haylee; and several nieces and nephews.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie
Mae Carrender Neeley, whom he married on September 8, 1949 in
Pulaski County, KY; a son, Billy Gene Neeley; a daughter, Juanita
Neeley; five brothers, Walter Neeley, Tifford Neeley, John Adam
Neeley, Sherman Neeley and Estill Neeley; ; two sisters, Sarah
Prince and Esima Richardson.
Visitation
for Mr. Neeley will be Thursday, April 28th and again
Friday, April 29th at 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland
Funeral Home, 1046 W. Hwy. 80, Somerset.
Funeral
service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30th at the
Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Chester New
and Brother Don Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the
Alexander Chapel in Bronston, KY.
