James “Dickie” Adams

    April 15, 1946 - August 30, 2011

James “Dickie” Adams age 65, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of Deborah Jane Welles Adams. They were married on September 29, 2007 in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and she survives him.

Mr. Adams was born on April 15, 1946 in the Cedar Grove community of Pulaski County, KY to the late Carroll and Nannie Helton Adams. He was a self-employed insulation contractor, a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, member of Burnside Masonic Lodge, and a member of Potter’s Place Church in Somerset.

Along with his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by two sons, Duane (and Robin) Adams of Somerset  and Kevin Adams of Somerset; two stepsons, Jason (and Lisa) Earle of London, KY and Jacob Earle of Louisville, KY; a daughter, Jamie Adams Brumley of Independence, KY; a stepdaughter, Jamie Lyn (and Brian) Price of Shelbyville, KY; fourteen grandchildren, Tarin Adams, Kelsie Adams, Katie Adams, Jessica Daniels, Emily Brumley, Austin Adams, Jacob Adams, Courtney Adams, Mason Earle, Elisia Earle, Jaylea Earle, Christian Earle, Kayce Evans, and Taylor Price; and three sisters, Sue (and J.T.) Stogsdill of Somerset, Lorene Ping of Somerset, and Alma McKee of West Chester, OH.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jarrad Adams; two brothers, Carl and Johnnie Adams; and five sisters, Virginia Meece, Odetta Sluterbeck, Margaret Sullivan, Mary Cook, and Pauline Loveless.

Visitation for Mr. Adams will be Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.

Funeral service will held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 2nd at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating. Burial will be in the Quinton Cemetery in Bronston, KY.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Quinton Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
