James William McFall

June 11, 1924 - April 22, 2008

James William McFall, age 83, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at his residence.

He was born in Nancy, KY on June 11, 1924 to the late Beecher Wyatt McFall and Ercie Mae Tyler McFall Abbott. James served in the Marine Corps during WWII and performed duties on Guam, Iwo Jima, and as part of the occupational forces in China. He was a participant in the Marine Corps reunions. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, and reading.

Mr. McFall is survived by his wife Sophia Simpson McFall whom, he married on January 29, 1947 in Somerset, KY; a son, Larry (& Stephanie) McFall of Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Rita (& Ron) Hall of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Richard Abbott of Dayton, OH, and Roy (& Velma) Abbott of Nancy, KY; four grandchildren, Katharine McFall Catellier, Casey McFall, Allyson McFall, and Natalie Hall.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Russell McFall.

Funeral services for James William McFall will be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11:00am with Bro. James Floyd officiating. Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #38. Interment will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 6:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to American Heart Association.
