Jessie Mildred Acton

June 14, 1915 - May 15, 2008

Mrs. Jessie Mildred Acton, widow of Claude Acton, age 92, of Eubank, departed this life on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her residence.

She was born on June 14, 1915 in Eubank, KY to the late Clarence Smith and Lourenda Stephens Griffin. She was a homemaker and member of the Beulah Church of God.

Mrs. Acton is survived by two sons, Morris McClure and Randall Acton of Somerset; three daughters, Jacqueline Wilda Acton of Eubank, KY, Valerie (and Wesley) Bray of Lancaster, KY, and Beverly Acton of Eubank, KY; two sisters, Mable Spears of Somerset and Gwendolyn Ramsey of Oxford, OH; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Claude Acton; a son, Douglas McClure; two brothers, Harold and Vernon Griffin; and three sisters, Myrtle Larkins, Carol Kazee, and Vernelle Ziggas.

Visitation for Mrs. Acton will be Sunday, May 18, 2008 after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be Monday, May 19, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Morris Traynor officiating. Burial will follow in the Eubank Cemetery.
