Jewell Donna Baker, age 78
of the Nelson Valley community, departed this life on Monday,
April 25, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on November
24, 1932 in Ula, KY to the late Roy W. and Beulah Stogsdill
Randall. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening,
especially her violets, the outdoors, fishing, crocheting, and her
crafts. She was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church and an
active member of the church choir.
Mrs. Baker is survived by
her husband, Bro. Dormis L. Baker Sr., whom she married on January
15, 1952 in Somerset; a son, Dormis L. Baker Jr. of Somerset; two
daughters, Diana Jewell (and RicK) Walters of Paris, KY and Pamela
Joyce Baker of Somerset; four grandchildren, Dormis Lodell Baker
III of Paoli, IN, Theodore Larry Campanello of Lexington, KY,
Kalan J. Baker in United States Air Force, and Kela Nicole Baker
Piatt of Somerset; three great grandchildren, Adain Baker, Katelin
Campanello, and Mason Piatt; two brothers, Earl Dean Randall of
Lexington, KY and Jackie Wilson Randall of Science Hill, KY; three
sisters, Loretta B. Hainey of Somerset, Roberta Lee Casada of
Eubank, KY, and Marilyn Sue Randall of Lexington, KY; and a host
of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Along with her parents, she
was preceded in death by a grandson, David Cain Robinson; two
brothers, Glenn Roy Randall and William Edward Randall; and two
brothers-in-law, Harold Hainey and Larry Casada.
Visitation for Mrs. Baker
will be on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be
held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 28th at the Chapel
of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse McCoy officiating.
Interment will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy,
KY. Pallbearers for Mrs. Baker will be Dormis L. Baker III, Larry
Campanello, Jackie W. Randall, Glenn Randall, Troy Hainey, and
Rick Walters.
