Joe Newton Woodson

December 30, 1931 - April 4, 2008

Joe Newton Woodson, 76, Mt. Vernon, KY, son of the late John D. and Grace Abbott Woodson, passed away on April 4, 2008 at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital in Richmond, KY.

He was born on December 30, 1931 in Tateville, KY.  Mr. Woodson was a
decorated Korean War Veteran, a retired United States postal employee as
well as being a former salesman for Babson Brothers/Surge Milking equipment.

Survivors include a daughter, Dana Kay Woodson of Cincinnati, OH and seven brothers and sisters, Virginia Harman of Richmond, VA; Hila Williams of Scranton, PA; Carol Lawall of Wapwallopen, PA; Joyce Broughton of Hebron, KY; Eddie Woodson of LaPorte, IN; Ronald Woodson of Somerset, KY and Creston Woodson of Houston, TX. He is also survived by twenty-eight nieces and nephews.

Mr. Woodson was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Howard Woodson, J.D. Woodson and Curtis Woodson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 6th at the chapel
of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Adkins and Rev. Steve
Broughton officiating.

Burial will be in the Goodhope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2008 after 6:00 pm.
