John Ray Jones, 73, of Science Hill , Kentucky , passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital .

He was born in Norwood , Kentucky on September 1, 1938, son of the late Ralph Jones and Pauline DeBord Jones Cox.  He was owner and operator of Jones Trucking and a member of Science Hill United Methodist Church .  He was in the National Guard for 8 years.  John Ray was a 50 year Mason, 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, Mt. Gilead Lodge #255 and Oleika Shrine Temple .  He loved trucking, cars, nascar racing and fellowship with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Adele Bryant Jones of Science Hill, one son, Eddie Ray Jones of Somerset , one brother, James Robert Jones of Science Hill, one sister, Betty Sue Jones Tuggle of New Castle, IN, a host of nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver, Cindy Correll.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, January 7, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Watts officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery .

Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

A Masonic service will be held at 8 PM Friday by Mt. Gilead Lodge #255.
