John A. Logan, age 66 of
Somerset, KY departed this life on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the
Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on June 13,
1944 in Midway, KY to the late Cecil and Cammie Wilson Logan. Mr.
Logan was a United States Marine Corp veteran and a retired
employee of the Kentucky State Highway Department. He was a member
and the Christian Education Director at the Harmony Fellowship
Baptist Church and a very outstanding Christian. He enjoyed
golfing, fishing, and doing God’s work.
Mr. Logan is survived by
his wife, Gayle Allen Logan, whom he married on May 23, 1997 at
the Crestwood Baptist Church in Frankfort, KY; two sons, John
Scott (and Amber) Logan of Frankfort, KY and Michael Todd (and
Teresa) Logan of Frankfort, KY; a stepson, Kris (and Melissa)
Gilbert of Somerset, KY; his grandchildren, Matthew Logan, Payton
Logan, Haley Logan, McKenzee Gilbert, Shon Gilbert and Kelley
Wilson; and two sisters, Peggy Nelson and Becky Benssi.
Along with his parents, he
was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Logan.
Celebration of Life service
for Mr. Logan will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30th
at the Harmony Fellowship Baptist Church, Lost Lodge Road in
Somerset with Bro. Adam Owens, Bro. Jeff Whitis, and Bro. Earl
Owens officiating. The American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will
conduct military honors for Mr. Logan.
