John Wayne Rush, age 64,
departed this life on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Lake
Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 26,
1947 in Laurel, Kentucky to the late Harvey Monroe and Addie
Katherine Farmer Rush. Mr. Rush was a retired paramedic with the
Somerset-Pulaski County EMS and also the owner of Rush’s Jewelry
and Gifts when he lived in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky in the 1980’s.
He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War era.
Mr. Rush was married to
Patricia Gick Rush on August 8, 1971 in Hamilton, Ohio and she
preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son,
John (and Brooks) Rush of Anderson, SC; two daughters, Alicia (and
Caleb) Andrus of Somerset and Diane Duvall of Somerset; seven
grandchildren, Kyle Stone, Gage Andrus, Makenna Andrus, Trevor
Andrus, Joseph Andrus, Destin Duvall, and Brynlee Duvall, all of
Somerset; and a sister, Janice (and Don) Eppert of Milford, OH.
Besides his parents and
wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
A gathering of family and
friends will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 22nd at
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
A “Celebration of Life” service will follow at 3:00 pm in the
Veterans Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
