Juanita Steele, age 79 of Berea, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Terrace Nursing Home & Rehab. 

She was born on April 24, 1932 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Flossie Denham Massingale.  Mrs. Steele was a homemaker.  She was a member of Heritage Hope Church of God.  Mrs. Steele was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she enjoyed all children.  She loved to sing, dance and take walks. 

She is survived by a son, Michael J. (and Cintra) Steele of Grainger, Indiana; three daughters, Brenda Steele of Lexington, KY, Renee (and Bobby) Creech of Berea, KY and Allison (and Tim) Wilburn of Somerset, KY; nine grandchildren, Kevin (and Devann) Steele, Kelly Steele, Tyler Cox, Ashley (and Daniel) McKee, Austin (and Jessie) Upchurch, Lauren Creech, Shelbi Wilburn, Kirsten Wilburn and Tara Wilburn; five great grandchildren, Jay Davidson, Braedon Sloan, Caedmon McKee, Chloe McKee and Jameson Wilburn; and one brother, Donald Massingale of Florence, KY.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Steele; a brother, David Massingale and a sister, Winona Cracraft. 

Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2011 after 5:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother J. S. New officiating.  Burial will be in the Somerset Cemetery.
