Hayden Bray August 10, 1924 - June 20, 2001 Hayden Bray, 76, Deerfield Lane, passed away Wednesday June 20, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born August 10, 1924, a son of the late Columbus Bray and Cholston (Haynes) Bray. He was a U S Navy WWII Veteran, a retired truck driver, a member of American Legion Post #38, a member of the Antioch Christian Church and attended Denham Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Nina Miller Bray, whom he married February 17, 1947 in Somerset, Kentucky; one daughter, Brenda (and Frankie) Nelson, Somerset, Ky.; three brothers, Harold "Greg" Bray, Somerset, Ky., Columbus "Bud" Bray, and Clarence "Gene" Bray, both of Burnside, Ky.; three sisters, Margaret Dearmon, Somerset, Ky., Anna Jordan, North Carolina and Flora Gibson, Frankfort, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother J. S. New officiating. He was born June 16, 1938, a son of the late Porter Herman Brake Sr. and Elsie (Cole) Brake. He was a Supervisor for East Ky. Power, a member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634 F & AM, and a member of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church where he served as an Usher and an assistant Sunday School Teacher. He is survived by his wife, Anna Geraldean (Rednour) Brake, whom he married on November 12, 1960 in Monticello, Ky.; two sons, Terry brake, Fort Knox, Ky. and Tom Brake, Somerset, Ky.; one daughter Karen (and Tim) Strunk, Vine Grove, Ky.; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Blaine, Jordan and Nathaniel Brake and Cody Strunk; three brothers, Haskell Brake, Tateville, Ky., Howard and Bobby Brake, both of Monticello, Ky.; two sisters, Margie New, Monticello, Ky., and Ruth Morris, Somerset, Ky. He was a Safety Director for the KY Department of Transportation, had worked for the State Department of Parks for 48 1/2 years, a State Police Officer, WWII Navy Veteran, member of the American Legion #0200, Faternal Order of Police-Lexington, KY Moose Lodge, Shelbyville, KY, a Life member of KY Sheriff's Association. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Paris, KY and attended St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Somerset.
