Kim
DelRe
October
14, 1955 – June 30, 2008

On
Monday, June 30, Kim DelRe, beloved and loving wife, mother,
grandmother, artist and teacher put the final brush strokes on the
canvas of her life.
With the aid of Hospice and surrounded by her close friends and
family she completed her life as she had lived it, with courage,
determination, and especially with love and compassion for those of us
fortunate enough to have shared her life. Her long struggle with ALS
never defeated her. She has planned and directed every step on the path
that has led us to this day, and her last day was a testimonial to her
courage and wisdom.
We who shared and assisted Kim in her last days are proud and
humbled to have been present at the completion of a beautiful life, the
finest work of art possible.
Kim's family wish to thank all those whose contributions of time and
emotional and material support made it possible for her to live her
final years at home.
There, surrounded by family, grandchildren, pets and the natural
world that continued to inspire her work she made each day a triumph.
An
open memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 12, 5 - 7 PM, at
Cedar Creek Vineyard. Parking will be at the Shopville Library, with
shuttle service provided to the Vineyard. Vegetarian dinner will be
served at 7:00. Feel free to bring a covered vegetarian dish.
Kim's
request was to avoid purchasing flowers for the family.
In lieu of flowers, she requested a donation to Adopt!Inc, a non
profit children's adoption agency dedicated to educational and
supportive services to children, adoptive parents and birth parents.
A representative of Adopt!Inc will be at the service to answer
questions.

encouraged musicians to bring their instruments and celebrate in song.
Wild
or garden flowers from your home will be greatly appreciated. We will
have vases ready for floral donations.
If
you wish to share some of Kim's artwork that you have, a display wall
will be provided.
Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements of Kimberly
DelRe.
