Lawrence Baker

Lawrence Baker, age 72, Hwy 235 Nancy, KY passed away on Monday March 26, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Mr. Baker was born on March 1, 1935 to the late “Clate” and Angie Burton Baker. He enjoyed and loved his family, the outdoors, and family gatherings. He was a retired service manager from South KY Mack, a lifelong mechanic, and a member of Okalona Baptist Church. He served in the United States Airforce, and full military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 38 Honor Guard.

He is survived by, his wife Emma Hamilton Baker, whom he married on Feb. 22, 1963 in Campbell County, TN; five sons, Robin Allen (& Tammy) Baker Nancy, KY, Rodney Clayton (& Bernice) Baker, Nancy, KY, Randy Taylor (& Cindy) Baker, Nancy, KY, Jeffrey Sherman (& Elisabeth) Baker, Somerset, and Jerry Lee (& Stephanie) Baker, Nancy, KY; four daughters, Debbie Lynn Baker, Nancy, KY, Rhonda Kay (& Allen) Gibson, Bronston, KY, Kimberly Jo (& Keith) Hammond, Nancy, KY, and Tammy Renea Baker, Nancy, KY; four sisters, Opal Lynn Jones, FL, Ina Faye Epperson, Nancy, KY, Iva Slaughter, Cincinnati, and Alice Baker, Cincinnati; twenty-one grandchildren, Shane, Jessica, Holly, Heather, Jeremy, Jordan, Whitley, Gracie, Austin, Tiffany, Brittany, Sara Beth, Ethan, Devon, Emalee, Cody, Carissa, Timothy, Brianna, Tori, Taylor, Jason, and Adrian; great-grandchild, Gabe C. Baker.

 He is preceded in death by, his parents, and five brothers, Encil Baker, Columbus Baker, Thomas Baker, Roy Howard Baker, Dallas Baker, a sister, Geneva Francis Hill, and a grandchild, Brandon Hammond.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Rogers, Bro. J.S. New officiating. Burial will be in Baker Family Cemetery, Nancy, KY.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 after 5:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Lawrence Baker Memorial Fund.
