Lena Turpin Dodson, age 85 of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on April, 1, 1926 in Delta, KY to the late William (Willie) Turpin and Florence Dodson Turpin.    Mrs. Dodson worked as a quality control clerk at General Electric in Somerset.  Mrs. Dodson was a member of the Quinton Baptist Church and she loved her church.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.

Mrs. Dodson is survived by a daughter, Doris Jean (and James) Jones of Monticello, KY; three grandchildren, Duane (and Robin) Adams of Somerset, KY, Kevin Adams of Somerset, KY and Jamie Brumley of Independence, KY; eight great grandchildren, Tarin, Kelsie, Katie Adams, Jacob, Austin and Courtney Adams, Jessica Daniel and Emily Brumley; two sisters-in-law, Vera Sue Turpin and Clara Turpin, both of Monticello, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Dodson, whom she married on March 26, 1946; a son, Richard Dodson; three brothers, Lewis, Howard and Herman Turpin; and two sisters, Ella Mae Gibson and Clara Keith.

Visitation for Lena Turpin Dodson will be Tuesday, June 21^st after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 22^nd at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Dishman officiating.  Burial will be in the Quinton Cemetery.
