Learl Lee Godby, age 62 of
Somerset, departed this life on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the
Sunrise Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on June 4, 1949
in Somerset, KY to the late Ezra and Mildred Elizabeth Bryant
Godby. Mr. Godby was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam War
era and a member of the Somerset Church of Christ. He worked for
Brown & Williams Tobacco Corporation of Louisville, KY.
Mr. Godby is survived by a
son, Kevin Godby of Leitchfield, KY and a sister, Nancy (and
Douglas) Richardson of Cincinnati, OH.
Along with his parents, he
was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald D. Godby and a
sister, Dora Elizabeth Gerald.
Visitation for Mr. Godby
will be Friday, January 13th at 9:00 am at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at
11:00 am at the Pitman Creek Cemetery. Willie Ramsey will
officiate. The American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard will conduct
military honors for Mr. Godby.
