Lena M. Bell, age 79 of Lexington, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born on September 29, 1931 in Pulaski County, Kentucky to the late William Arthur and Maude Surber Measel.  Mrs. Bell was a bookkeeper for Worldwide Equipment.  She was of the Church of Christ faith. 

She is survived by a son, Jerry Lee (and Kathy) Bell of Lexington, KY; a step-son, Edward Lee Bell of Bedford, VA; and one grandchild, Jordan Lee Bell.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Lee Bell, whom she married on May 16, 1963 in Somerset, KY; a son, Donald Lee Bell; four brothers, Marshall R. Measel, William Alonzo Measel, Holbart Doyle Measel and Everett Measel; three sisters, Effie Jewell, Violet Norine Price and Blanche Beatrice Hendricks. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 15, 2011 after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Minister Ed Bialon officiating.  Burial will be in the Etna Church of Christ Cemetery.
