Libby J. Acey, age 55, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on February 8, 1956 in Greenwood, Indiana to Gladys Willine Burdine Chaney and the late Floyd Jesse Chaney.  She attended Parkers Mill Baptist Church where she was very active.   She worked as a seamstress for Palm Beach.  She was a child caregiver and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. 

Ms. Acey is survived by her mother, Gladys Willine Burdine Chaney of Ano, KY; her husband of 30 years, James Acey, Jr., two sons, Jason Scott (and Kristina) Acey and James C. (and Misty) Acey, both of Somerset; three grandchildren, Tyler Scott Acey, Alex Acey and Ryan Acey; two brothers, Michael and Jackie Chaney; and two sisters, Sandy Wesley and Joy Denney.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Julie Chaney and Barbara Chaney. 

Funeral service for Libby J. Acey was held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  Burial was in the Science Hill Cemetery, Science Hill, Kentucky.
