Lola E. Jones

February 26, 1919 - July 29, 2008

Lola E. Jones, 89, of Binfield Court in Powell, Tennessee, formerly ofxPulaski County, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on February 26, 1919, daughter of the late John A. and Luverna Lovins McPheron.  She was a homemaker and a member of Goodhope Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Lowell & (Lucy) Jones of Powell, TN, one
brother, Herb McPheron of Eubank, one sister, Bessie Brock of Covington, KY, seven grandchildren, Russell & (Debora) Jones, Paula & (Mike) Calloway and Steve & (Barbara) Jones, all of Knoxville and Kevin & (Tammy) DeBord, Mike DeBord & (Amy Reeves), Tony DeBord and Dana & (Jerry) Isaacs, all of Woodstock, three nieces, whom she reared, Linda Sue Harrison of Woodstock, Lana Kaye Bilbrey of Phoenix, AZ and Kathy Jo Meece of Nancy, former granddaughter-in-law, Tammy DeBord of Berea, a host of great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Austin Jones, whom she
married on December 15, 1938 and who died on September 21, 1989, her
parents, one daughter, Joyce DeBord, son-in-law, Sonny DeBord, one brother, Ed McPheron, three sisters, Jean Denney, Lillie Mae Estes and Ivory Thompson and granddaughter-in-law, Dawn DeBord.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, KY.

Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home.
