Luther E. Sanders June 4, 1932 - June 16, 2008
Mr.
Luther E. Sanders, age 76 of Somerset, passed away on Monday, June 16,
2008 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was
born on June 4, 1932 in Major community of Owsley County, KY to the late
Gilbert and Ebbie Wilson Sanders. He was a United States Army veteran of
the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring after 26 years of service. He was
of the Baptist faith. Mr.
Sanders is survived by his wife, Theresa Burzynski Sanders, whom he
married in San Antonio, TX on January 25, 1986; a daughter, Tammy
Sanders of Somerset; a stepson, Kenneth Ewing of Austin, TX; two
stepdaughters, Terry Lynn (and Mike) Dawson of San Antonio, TX and
Debbie (and Randy) Loescher of Victoria, TX; three brothers, Arnold (and
Jeanette) Sanders of Chavies, KY, Minter Mowpin of Chavies, KY, and
Lucien (and Janet) Sanders of Hamilton, OH; eight grandchildren; and
three great grandchildren. Preceding
him in death were his parents; two brothers, Woody Mowpin and Tommy
Sanders; and three sisters, Mary Lou Campbell, Gracie Sanderson, Georgia
Noble. Visitation
for Mr. Sanders will be Thursday, June 19th after 6:00 pm at
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral
service will be Friday, June 20th at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Green officiating. Burial
will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery at Nancy, KY with military
honors to be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard of
Somerset. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
