Luther W. Sexton, age 72 of
Somerset, KY departed this life on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at
his home.
He was born on March 18,
1938 in Wayne County, KY, the son of Alvin and Litha Carrender
Sexton. He was a retired ship fitter for American Shipyard in
Lorain, OH and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Sexton loved fishing,
hunting mushrooms, collecting arrowheads, and an avid outdoorsman.
He was a loving father.
Mr. Sexton is survived by
his daughter, Katrina (and Ronny Michael) Pinson of Somerset, KY;
two grandchildren, Jamie Nichols of Amherst, OH and Andrew (and
Crystal) Nichols of Afghanistan; four great grandchildren, Jade
Nichols, Jayla Layne, Kaleb Nichols, and Hannah Nichols; and two
brothers, Ivan Sexton of Somerset, KY and Emory Sexton of Denison,
TX
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Alvin and Litha Sexton.
Visitation for Mr. Sexton
will be Monday, February 28th at 12 Noon at the Chapel
of Lake Cumberland Funeral with his funeral service to follow at
1:00 pm. Bro. Blake Pinson will officiate. Burial will be in the
Tuttle-Carrender Cemetery in the Strawberry community of Wayne
County, KY.
