Marie H. Corley, age 96 of Somerset, KY departed this life on January 3, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on July 18, 1914 in Harlan, KY to the late Andrew and Nannie Wilson Howard. She was a teacher in Kentucky, Virginia and the last 30 years of teaching was in Middletown, OH. Marie was a member of the Ellers Chapel Methodist Church in Monticello, KY and a member and Past Matron of the Fidelis Chapter 545 Order of the Eastern Star in Nancy, KY.

Marie is survived by three daughters, Ann Davis (Bill) of Shelbyville, KY, JoAnn Gibson (Bob) of Middletown, OH, and Janice Harrison (Ed) of Somerset, KY; two sisters, Mary Edna Brotzman and Kathleen Wilson of Lexington, KY; nine grandchildren, LaVerna Corley Smith, Diane McIntosh, Cecelia Gibson, Donna Sue Minotto, Susan Davis, Melanie Everhart, Steven Gardiner, Stephanie Houk, and Bob Harrison; seventeen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gloy D. Corley; a son, Jackie D. Corley; a brother; and six sisters.

Visitation for Mrs. Corley will be Thursday, January 6^th at 5:00 pm at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 pm. Bro. John Perry and Rev. Jim Gifford will officiate.  The Fidelis Chapter 545 Order of the Eastern Star of Nancy, KY will conduct rites at 7:30 pm.

Burial will be held Friday, January 7^th at 2:00 pm at the Butler County Memorial Park in Middletown, OH.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and/or Showers of Blessing Fund at the Eastern Star Home of Kentucky.
