Mattie Helen Daulton Bryant, age 85 of Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at her residence. 

She was born on  in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Samuel E. and Carrie Ella Norfleet Daulton.  Mrs. Bryant was a member of Southside Church of Christ.  She was a homemaker. 

She is survived by a son, Paul Edward “Bear” Bryant (and his fiancé, Constance Pyles) of Science Hill, KY; a daughter, Bridget Lee (and Douglas Jay) Smiley of Maumelle, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Karenssa Helen Roysdon (and Angela Geralds) of Evansville, IN, Nathan Lee Roysdon (and Katy Monroe) of Science Hill, KY and Morgan Bryant of Shopville, KY; three great grandchildren, Salome Roysdon of Evansville, IN, Xavier Roysdon of Science Hill, KY and Layla Bray of Shopville, KY; a brother, Scott E. (and Judy) Daulton of Elizabethtown, KY; a sister, Ethel Daulton Bray of Ladson, South Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy Lee Bryant, whom she married on June 9, 1943 in Danville, KY; and four sisters, Dorothy Daulton, Edna Daulton Evans, Sammie Daulton Farley and an infant sister, Margaret Daulton. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 after 5:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Shawn Baine, Brother Don Alexander and Brother Mickey Ray.  Burial will be in the Science Hill Cemetery.
