Mildred
Louise Pike, age 86 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on
Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Somerset Nursing & Rehab.
She
was born on August 27, 1925 in Shelbyville, Indiana to the late
Ira and Olive Underback Sipes. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pike was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving
grandmother who enjoyed old westerns, Elvis movies, doll
collecting and flower arranging. Her favorite times were
spent with her family. Mrs. Pike loved to reminisce about
her favorite memories while sitting on her front porch during the
warm summer days.
She
is survived by a son, Gerald G. (and Sandy) Sipes of Shelbyville,
IN; five daughters, Joyce A. Pike of Illinois, Elsie L. (and
Delmer) LaFavers of Somerset, KY, Rebecca S. (and Terry) Shepard
of Connersville, IN, Janet M. Weddle of Somerset, KY and Kimberly
(and Mike) Daily of Fairland, IN; thirteen grandchildren; ten
great grandchildren; and one brother, Clifford Sipes of
Shelbyville, IN.
Along
with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James
T. Pike, whom she married in Shelbyville, IN; two brothers,
Forrest and Charles Sipes and one sister, Edna M. Hamilton.
Visitation
will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm
at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway
80, Somerset, Kentucky with funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm.
Brother James Floyd will officiate.
The
family request expressions of sympathy be made to the American
Humane Society.
