Mina Jean Fike, age 76 of
Nancy, KY departed this life on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at her
home.
She was born on October 9,
1934 in Nancy, KY to the late Guy Henry and Dexter Stevens Taylor.
Mrs. Fike was a retired nurse, having worked for the Lake
Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was a member of the
Sardis United Methodist Church and loved her church family. Mrs.
Fike enjoyed gardening, yard work, collecting dolls and porcelain
angels. She was also a volunteer at the Lake Cumberland Regional
Hospital.
Mrs. Fike is survived by
her son, Scott T. (and wife, Denean) Fike of Ramstein, Germany; a
grandson, Taylor Austin Fike; a granddaughter, Susan Victoria Fike;
a brother, Marlon Taylor of Florida; and a sister, Lorene Whitmer
of Owensboro, KY.
Along with her parents, she
was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Fike, whom she
married in 1958 and a brother, Harold Ray Taylor.
Visitation for Mrs. Fike
will be Tuesday, March 15th at 6:00 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be
held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 16th at the Chapel
of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Coppersmith
officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
