Myrtle Alma Nicholas

June 22, 1923 - June 22, 2008

Mrs. Myrtle Alma Nicholas, widow of Terry Nicholas, age 85, of Ader Holt Road, Bronston, KY, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on June 22, 1923 in the Kidder community of Wayne Co., KY to the late Logan and Martha Shelton Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove United Baptist Church #2 of Bronston, KY. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and going to church.

Mrs. Nicholas is survived by three sons, Arthur (and Neva) Troxtell of Bronston, KY, Larry Nicholas of Bronston, KY, and Homer Nicholas of Lawrenceburg, KY; stepmother, Dessie Dalton of the Kidder community; four half sisters, Opal, Judy, Gloria, and Mary; three grandchildren, Sheila Breshears, Lisa Troxtell, and Dwight Troxtell; five great grandchildren, Paige Neely, Kadence Neely, Isaacs Troxtell, Ginger Stigall, and Matthew Cassada; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Terry Nicholas, whom she married on February 24, 1944; three brothers, Ephraim, Arthur, and Jerry Thompson; six sisters, Flora Neely, Eula Nicholas, Fonzia Morrow, Mary Nicholas, Ruthie Corner, and Rena Nicholas; and a great granddaughter, Kylee Neely.

Visitation for Mrs. Nicholas will be Tuesday, June 24th after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, then on Wednesday, June 25th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Piney Grove United Baptist Church #2 in Bronston, KY.

Funeral services will Wednesday, June 25th at 1:00 pm at the Piney Grove United Baptist Church #2 in Bronston, KY with Bro. Herstle Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery at Kidder.
