Norma J. Horton Weddle, age
78 of Somerset, departed this life on Wednesday, September 14,
2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on January 11,
1933 in Linneus, Missouri to the late John and Mildred Avera
Horton. Mrs. Weddle was a homemaker, volunteered with Senior
Friends at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, and a member of
the Denham Street Baptist Church.
She married Dewey
“Junior” Weddle on August 22, 1953 in Somerset, KY and he
preceded her in death on November 15, 2007.
She
is survived by an aunt, Mildred Avera of Danville, KY; several
cousins, Margie Wilson, Harlan Avera, Leonard Avera, David Avera,
Doris Ridenour, Marie Ridenour, Susie Jones, Jimmy Avera and
Margaret, all of Somerset, KY, Linda Pennington and
Kathy Grow of Danville, KY and Richard Avera; several other
cousins, relatives and friends; two special friends, Loraine Hey
of Virginia and Anna Childers of Georgia; her Denham
Street Baptist Church Family; and all of her friends at Captain
D’s.
Along
with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by
four uncles, Charles Avera of Somerset, KY, Richard Avera of
Somerset, KY, Harold “Bud” Avera of Somerset, KY and Howard
“Nin” Avera of Danville, KY.
Visitation
for Norma J. Horton Weddle will be Monday, September 19th
after 9:30 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with
her funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Brother J. S. New
and Brother David Muse will officiate. Interment will be in
the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY.
