Martha R. Hughes, 85 died October 30, 2001 at her home in the Ruth Community. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Hughes who she married in Somerset, Ky. on April 7, 1940.

She was born February 28, 1916, to the late Mary Alexander Tomlinson and George R. Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by her sisters Myrtle Richardson, Dorothy Tomlinson and Emma Tomlinson; and brothers Oscar L. Tomlinson and William Tomlinson.

Other survivors include a daughter, Sylvia (and Jewell) Tomlinson of Stone Mountain, GA.; a son Max ( and Carolyn ) Hughes of Somerset, Ky., Grandchildren include Kelly (and David) Ponder, Knoxville, Tenn., Anthony Hughes of Richmond, and Belinda Forshee of Louisville, Ky.; and five great grandchildren. Surviving sisters are Roberta Ping, Ruth and Jessie Tomlinson of Leheigh, Fla.; and five great grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church. She was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who mourn her passing.

Edward Lee Flynn, 70, Hunter’s Run - Green Briar Subdivision passed away October 28, 2001 at 1009 Hunter’s Run Somerset.

He was born July 8, 1931 son of the late McKinley and Minnie (Tucker) Flynn. He was a retired Processor, Tecumseh Products Company and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Norman Jean (Keith) Flynn whom he married on November 1, 1951 in Monticello; two sons Glenn and (Kathy) Flynn, David and (Karen) Flynn all of Amherst Ohio; two brothers Avery Flynn of Kidder Community, Wayne Flynn of Bronston; one sister Cloa Casada of Somerset; five grandchildren Andy, David, Rachel, Russell, and Pamela Flynn; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers James and Willie Flynn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday October 31, 2001 at Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Ulanda Price and Bro. Robert Flynn officiating. Laura M. (Seal) Mills, 86, Stanford Street, Science Hill passed away Friday October 26, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born April 23, 1915 a daughter of the late Tilman Seal and Florence (Seals) Seal, in Hancock, Co. Tn. She was a Homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Faye and (Wendell) Ard, Science Hill, Jean and (Wilmer) Ard, Science Hill, Sandra and (John) White, Somerset and Phyrell Mills, Atlanta, Ga.; one grandson, Todd Mills Hines, New Haven, Ct.; three sisters, Mammie Reed, White Pine, Tn., Bertie Bloomer, Jefferson City, Tn. and Myrtle Booker, Knoxville, Tn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodrow Homer Mills, whom she married on March 5, 1932, and passed away August 14, 1992; two brothers, Henry and Paul Seals; one sister, Eva Seals.

She was born December 4, 1928 a daughter of the late Otis Price and Martha (Adams) Price. She was a seamstress for Palm Beach and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Patrick and (Beverly) Burdine, Somerset, Ky.; two daughters Charlotte and (Sammie) Dykes, Somerset, Ky. and Janet and (Gordon) Albright, Rockcastle County, Ky.; one brother Stanley Price, Eubank, Ky.; three sisters Shirlene Whitaker, Mt. Healthy, Oh., Evelyn Godbey, Stanford, Ky. and Corene Poynter, Somerset, Ky.; three grandchildren, Allen Dykes, Stephen Dykes and Martha Burdine; two great grandchildren, Samuel Dykes and Colby Burdine, and one great great grandchild, Hope Ridner Dykes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman Burdine who she married on March 1, 1947 in Jamestown, Ky.

He was born October 24, 1926 the son of the late Robert L. Jones and Nellie (Baker) Jones. He was a farmer, a mechanic, a W.W.II U S Marine Veteran, a member of DAV Chapter #126 and a member of Pulaski Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Slagle) Jones whom he married on April 16, 1945; two daughters, Brenda Cates, Eubank, Ky. and Barbara and (Richard) Ely, Crossville, TN.; one sister Beatrice and (James) Harmon, Greenville, TN.; 3 Grandchildren, Austin Cates, Shawn and (Scarlet) Wesley and Jamey and (Ashleigh) Wesley; 2 nephews, Barry and (Terry) Harmon and Gary and (Becky) Harmon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and on sister Juanita Jones.

Charlene B. (Godsey) Pigman, 80, Mayfield Lane passed away Thursday October 18, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born July 18, 1921 in Norton, Va., a daughter of the late John F. Godsey, Sr. and Amanda (Culbertson) Godsey. She was a Self Employed Dry Cleaner and a former member of Fleming Baptist Church in Fleming, Ky. for over 30 years with 19 years of that serving as secretary and a member of Eubank Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Walker Pigman whom she, married on October 28, 1956; one son, Douglas Walker and (Kathy Dawn) Pigman, Eubank, Ky.; one brother Harold Godsey, Columbus, Oh.; three grandchildren, Stacy Michelle Pigman, Somerset, Ky., Kevin Douglas Walker and (Vanessa) Pigman, Eubank, Ky. and Danielle Pigman, Eubank, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Godsey, Jr.; Lola Barber, Mavis Sturgill, Janielle Shipley and Vivian Mason.

She was born January 6, 1908 a daughter of the late Sylvester Kissee and Mary (Allen) Kissee. She was a homemaker, a Sunday School teacher for many years at White Oak Baptist Church where she was member and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Gene and (Lucy) Weddle, Bronston, Ky., Paul and (Donna) Weddle, Harker Heights, TX. and Lloyd and (Pat) Weddle, Elizabeth, Ky.; three daughters, Drucella and (Sam) Jordan, Marietta, Ga., Mary Jane and (Donald) Withers, Nicholasville, Ky. and Alfreda Bogle, Somerset, Ky.; four sisters Susie Molden, Somerset, Ky., Doris Burkett, Science Hill, Ky. Edith Whitaker, Naples, Fl. and Clara Auterson, Norwood, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clay Weddle whom she married on September 3, 1930 in Ingle, Kentucky; one son, Stanley Weddle; three brothers, Elmer, Hollis and Herbert Kissee; four sisters, Gertrude Dick, Ida Wilson, Jewell Kissee and Mary D. Kissee; a granddaughter, Gretta Withers; one son-in-law, Jerry Bogle.

He was born in Delmer, KY, January 5, 1916, son of the late Virgel Hudson and Emma (Hislope) Hudson. He was a factory worker, Cumberland Wood & Chair in Somerset and member of Delmer Church of the Nazarene in Nancy, KY.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Mae (Brock) Hudson, whom he married December 20, 1938 in the Delmer community, a son, Bobby (and Iris) Hudson, a daughter, Kathleen Everman both of Nancy, a sister, Salley Henderson of West Somerset, three granddaughters, Penny Frye (and Rodger) Acey of Science Hill, Kim Hudson Johnson of Richmond, KY and Bobbie Jo Hudson (and Chris) Mason of Nancy, four great-grandchildren, Brandon and Blake Johnson, Christopher and Tyler Mason.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Branscum Cox whom he married July 6, 1973 in Somerset; his parents; three sons Damon and (Kara) Cox, Jordan L. Cox all of Bronston, Todd and (Tammy) Brewer of Somerset; one brother Al Cox of Faubush; three sisters Annie Sims, Paula Hargis, Sharon Canada all of Somerset.

He was preceded in death by one brother Dale Cox.

Survivors include his wife Robin Lee Hinkle Jasper whom he married on March 30, 1975 in Somerset; one daughter Cassindra Shane Jasper; four brothers Michael Jasper of Frankfort, Kentucky, Timothy Jasper of Newport News, Virginia., Thomas Jasper of Somerset, Mark Tee Garden of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; four sisters Beverly Jasper of Somerset, Tamra and Debra Jasper of Columbus, Ohio, Belinda Meece of Frankfort, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his father Ethard Jasper.

He was born October 2, 1967 son of Luella Harriett (Godbey) Richardson. He was a member of Bethelridge United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his mother; two half-sisters Jessica and Mary Frances Godbey both of Casey Co.

He was preceded in death by his father; one half-brother Kenneth Wayne Godbey.

Minnie A. Taylor, 91, Norwood - Mt. Zion Road, Science Hill passed away Thursday October 4, 2001 at Britthaven Nursing Home.

She was born August 15, 1910 daughter of the late Richard and Lola (Vaught) Dick. She was a homemaker, raised 48 foster children and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter Lola Jearleen and Othel Dick of Science Hill; three brothers Oval Dick, Edwin Dick both of Springdale, Ohio., Richard Green Dick of Buncomb, Kentucky; one sister Myrtle Wesley of St. Bernard, Ohio; five grandchildren Ray and Lester Randolph, Diana Young, Annette Wesley, Karen Dick; eleven great - grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Hursel Randolph and Luther Taylor; two sons Earl and Earnie Randolph; four brothers Alger, Coy, Roy and Don Dick and one sister Matrie Dick.

Neal L. Childers, 83, Coomer Road Burnside passed away Tuesday October 2, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

He was born September 26, 1918 son of the late Stansberry and Ada (Strunk) Childers. He had worked at Lear-Siegler, Kentucky Colonel, U. S. Army veteran of W.W.II and attended Grave Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons Leonard and (Beth) Childers of Danville, Frankie and (Ann) Childers of Pinellas Park, Florida; one brother Frank and (Mildred) Childers of Bronston; one brother-law Jessie Bray; Companion Frances Johnson; six grandchildren Stanley, Warren, Rick, Ryan, Randy Childers, Angie Denham; six great-grandchildren; children of his extended family Betty, Linda, David, Vivian and eleven grandchildren in his extended family Chuck, Lisa, Brandy, Barry, Sunshine, Shawnee, Destiny, Jeffery, Kyle, Shawn and Caylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Stanley B. Childers; one brother Oliver Childers; one sister Elsie Childers Bray and one grand daughter Christy Childers.

He was born October 25, 1931 son of the late Frank and Zella (Jones) Casada. He was a retired route man, Modern Vending Company, and member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons Thomas Lee Casada and Nyle "Chubby" Casada both of Ohio; two daughters Doris Helen Young of Washington and Beverly Sue Rucker of Ohio; one brother David and (Barbara) Casada of Somerset; three sisters Imogene Flynn of Somerset, Geneva Flynn of Bronston and Karen Branscum of Somerset; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janice Casada.

He was born September 2, 1918 son of the late John F. and Jenny (Woodall) Randall. He was a farmer. He also worked for Peoples Tobacco Warehouse in Somerset and a member of Cedar Gap Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his wife Alma (Bales) Randall whom he married on April 22, 1938 in Somerset; three daughters Donna Charlene and (Harold) Price of Indianapolis, IN., Virginia Lee and (Bill) Price and Vivian Gay and (Wilbert) Nicely all of Somerset; five grandchildren, Rick Price, Rance Price, Rhonda Cox, Robin Johnson and Tracy McCowan; six great-grandchildren Dustin Price, Brooke McCowan, Kelsey Johnson, Corey Price, Rachel Price and Alex McCowan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Nellie Hargis, Georgia Parkey and Gertrude Phelps; four brothers Pleas, Claude, Lloyd and Oscar Randall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Nelson whom she married on April 5, 1941; three brothers Joe, Eugene and Harold Simpson; two sisters Vietta New and Juanita Simpson; great-grandson Jarrod Mayfield.
