Oval
F. Roy, age 88 of the Faubush Community, departed this life on
Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his residence.
He
was born on September 7, 1922 in the Vinnie Community of Kentucky
to the late Benjamin Harrison and Nancy Chumbley Roy. He
served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an
avid U.K. fan. He loved to hunt, farm and fish. He
enjoyed spending time with his wife and telling stories about his
career as a medic during the Korean Conflict.
He
is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Roy, whom he married
on July 1, 1970 in Liberty, KY; a special nephew, Lowell Gene Roy
of Faubush, KY; a sister, Christine Frye of Nancy, KY; and a host
of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene
and Otha Roy; and two sisters, Alma McClendon and Linda Frye.
Visitation
for Mr. Roy will be Friday, June 17th after 9:00 am at
the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80,
Somerset, KY with funeral service to follow at 11:00 am with
Brother Harold Wright and Brother Junior Holmes officiating.
Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers
will be Gary McClendon, Eric Roy, Dale Mote, Eric Stephens, Andy
Stephens and Lonza Stephens.
