Pansy Francis West

    January 17, 1912 - August 27, 2010

Pansy Francis West, age 98 of Somerset, KY departed this life on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born on January 17, 1912 in Somerset, KY to the late Ephriam and Saphronia Hudson.

Mrs. West was a cook for the Greyhound Bus Lines. She loved singing gospel music at different churches and loved people. Mrs. West was a member at the South Maple Street 1st Baptist Church and the organist for over 20 years. She was a former member of the Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Mrs. West is survived by her daughter, Everdeen Ferguson of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Ogretta Ferguson, Starletta Days, and Charlene Jones; five great grandchildren, George Ferguson, Christy Ferguson, Shania Days, Frankesia Days, and Terry Thomas; five great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ralph West; four brothers, Elijah “Sam” Hudson, Luther Hudson, Irvin Hudson, and Emmauel Hudson; seven sisters, Reba, Zella, Zula, Lacie, Daisy, Marie, and Naomi; and a grandchild, Joyce Thomas.

Visitation for Mrs. West will be Wednesday, September 1st from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm at South Maple Street 1st Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Bro. James Barleston will officiate. Interment will be in the Stanford Pike Cemetery in Somerset.
